My lover is like a gazelle or a young stag. His relationship with us not like a loveless marriage-he is a perfect God with perfect love for his creation. We are not an afterthought, an irritation, or something he has to put up with. He wants us to know he is passionate for us. God is comparing the strength of earthly love to our relationship with him.
